2007 sees the fourth edition of Europe’s first and only animation film festival dedicated exclusively to female animation. The international competition is the heart of Tricky Women 2007 which runs in Vienna (Austria) over five days (March 1-5) packed with a full programme of films. There are two categories: Independent Animated Films / Independent Animated Videos. Any animated film or video made by a woman may be entered in the competition. Digitally create in 3D an “Architectural Wonder”. You may abstract an existing architectural marvel, but not duplicate it, and digitally construct it using contemporary materials and construction techniques. You may use your imagination and create what you think is an architectural marvel, and create something completely new and unique. Whichever path you choose to take, the architecture alluded to must be constructible with today’s technology and be inhabitable/occupied/populated by humans. From visual effects to architectural visualisation, computer games art to 3d computer animation, the Animex Student Animation Awards once again invites students from around the world to submit their work. Categories: 3D ANIMATION, 2D ANIMATION, GAMES DESIGN, VISUAL EFFECTS, VISUALISATION, EXPERIMENTAL ANIMATION and MOTION GRAPHICS. Any frame by frame or computer assisted animated film or game created between 1 October 2005 and 1 October 2006 produced as student work is elegible. Muji is launching an international design competition. A project calling for entries from all over the world of designs. The theme is “SUMI”. The objective is not to design something that is placed in the middle of the room, but towards the edges, not at the centre and not directly around the centre. Anyone may apply regardless of whether they are corporate or private individuals, freelancer designers, in-house corporate designers, students etc. Entries must be the original works of entrants and must not have previously been released.
