Animatu it’s a Digital Animation Festival that runs from November 15 to 19 at Pax Julia - Municipal Theatre of Beja, Portugal. Competition categories: Machinima (animations developed in a real-time virtual 3D or 3D game engine), 2D shorts (including flash and all vector-based animations), 3D CGI shorts and Animation for Mobile Phones (2D/3D animations optimized for Mobile Phones or PDA’s with a maximum of 20 seconds length.). The registration is free and opened to independent or professionals animators of any nationality. Only competition for student requires films made in Portugal. Films must be produced after 1st January 2005 and had never before been selected to this competition. There is no specific topic for the films. The animation must be PAL system (all regions). Prizes to the two best works in each category as well a Grand Prix and a Best Portuguese Award to the best of the two.
